Using the IDE

Tools & Shortcuts

This page lists the main toolbar buttons and keyboard shortcuts for each PIXELFALLS editor, including modifier keys such as Shift, Alt, and Ctrl/Cmd.

Toolbar icons match the buttons in the IDE. On the shared drawing tools and the Edit commands, the icon is a single cell that spans the left side of that table.

Shortcuts apply when the editor canvas has focus. They are ignored while you type in a text field (for example renaming a sound or editing Lua).

On macOS, use Cmd wherever this guide writes Ctrl/Cmd.

Surfaces that are still experimental or hidden behind developer flags are omitted here until they are generally available.

Shared drawing tools

The Sprite Editor, Tile Sets, and Level Editor share the same drawing-tool strip. Tools that do not apply stay visible but disabled. Each tool is its own table. The icon is one cell down the left side, then the tool and what it does, its shortcut, and one row for each modifier.

Editing

Undo, Redo, Copy, Cut, Paste, and Delete are on the Edit card beside Draw Tools in the Sprite Editor, Tile Sets, Level Editor, and Sound Editor. The Code Editor uses the same Undo and Redo shortcuts. The icon matches that button and spans the left side, then the command and what it does, then its shortcut.
