Quick Start

Hello World

Create a main file with:

function draw()
  -- Clear the previous frame
  clearScreen() -- cls() can also be used

  -- Draw text at 8, 8 using color 7 and font size 1
  drawText("HELLO PIXELFALLS", 8, 8, 7, 1)
end

Run your first program

Open the Code Editor, enter the example in main, then select Play in the sidebar.

Lua environment

Cart scripts get standard Lua math, string, table, and base. Do not use require() for project files — see Std Lua Libraries.

Optional: PIXELFALLS Lua Sugar

PIXELFALLS supports optional syntax sugar such as x++, x--, and x += y (rewritten to standard Lua before runtime/export).

See PIXELFALLS Lua Sugar for supported operators and caveats.
